I put these together because I am sick of reading girls putting themselves down on tumblr because they don’t look like any of these women. There are things called high end cosmetics and photoshop that make these women look perfect by hiding their blemishes and wrinkles. The truth is they can afford far better makeup than you. The stuff they use is almost magic. And we all know the things they can do with photographs these days. Strip all that away and they’re just like you. You also have to figure how many of these women had cosmetic surgery. There is no so such thing as a perfect and flawless looking person.

Long overdue post…puts things into a more balanced perspective. Thank you for this compilation.

God this makes me feel better about myself

Johansson was so determined to avoid looking like a movie star pretending to be a zookeeper running on empty and fueled only by her devotion to her motley assortment of big cats, zebras, and kangaroos that she refused to wear makeup for the film. A big deal for a female movie star, but it works, helping to anchor her performance in the details of actual manual labor—shoveling shit, feeding slabs of red meat to the lion and tigers—that we don’t see much of in American movies. #i’m sorry what? #that’s what your face looks like without any makeup? #well fuck me #i’m done #i give up

Benedict on the success of Sherlock x

And this is when we learn that Benedict is King Exaggeration.

Here’s what Claire his hair and make-up artist had to say about that quote.

The video from the Spring Summer 2013 Just Cavalli show I worked on yesterday with Mac Cosmetics. I created luminous skin with Face & Body Foundation and shimmering highlights with Cream Color Base in Pearl and Shell. I applied a bold navy blue eyeliner on the upper lids of the eyes using Chromaline in Marine Ultra over which I applied Naval Blue Pigment mixed with Eyeliner Mixing Medium for an iridescent effect. The lashes were curled and no mascara was used. The highlight on the inner corner of the eye was created using White Pigment mixed with a bit of Fix+. On the lips I applied the beautiful nude Mineralize Rich Lipstick in Luxe Naturale that will be launched in Spring 2013.

Did a big makeup purge last night to make room for my new mascara. Some of this stuff was 10 years old! Not much point in keeping it, since I only wear makeup about twice a year. Now all of my makeup fits in my makeup box!

I just read about 12 articles on how to apply mascara, and they all contradicted each other. I’m gonna go with “Do whatever the fuck you want.”
